MultilingApp Proprietary Limited is an independent private company registered in Australia. Multilingapp was born out of the sheer frustration of 30 years of working as a freelance Professional Interpreter and Translator in Sydney Australia. The freelance scene is characterised by a lack of cohesion, reliability and regularity of work with little reward and respect for freelancers. It is a struggle for the majority of freelancers in the field to keep their heads above water. The Interpreting and Translation industry has tended to operate on ‘who you know’ rather than on merit.

OUR MISSION

Being owned and directed by a qualified, skilled, and experienced Interpreter, Translator, T&I Trainer, and T&I Researcher, MultilingApp is a company that will operate based on the knowledge that the ability of a bilingual or multilingual to interpret or translate between human languages is not an acquired skill. Rather, it is an innate talent and aptitude that is fostered, enhanced and extended by Interpreters’ and Translators’ lifetime of living and communicating the languages and cultures in which they operate. This talent and aptitude do not merely impart the ability to acquire languages, but also to transfer meaning between languages. Although, interpreters and translators can be taught how to do the external procedure, they cannot be taught how to do the cross-language internal processing of interpreting and translation.

Furthermore, the fostering, enhancing, and extension of living the languages and cultures is derived from life experiences driven by the curiosity and compulsion for self-development and improvement naturally borne out of the gift and aptitude for languages and communication.
